AMERICAN COMMUNITY COLLEGE FOOTBALL COACHES ASSOCIATION

ARTICLE 1

NAME OF THE ORGANIZATION

The name of the organization shall be the American Community College Football Coaches Association.

ARTICLE II

PURPOSE OF THE ORGANIZATION

The purpose of this organization is to maintain the highest possible standards in community college football and community college football coaching profession.  It shall be the purpose to promote, encourage, and direct activities, which shall aid the local, regional, and all community college football programs.

ARTICLE III

MEMBER OF THE ORGANIZATION

Section 1 Composition.  There shall be two classes of memberships.

 

Active

Any member of the football coaching staff of any accredited California Community College of NJCAA Community College may become a member of the association upon payment of dues.  Active members are the voting members of the organization.

Associate

Any individual may become an associate member.  Such associate membership requires the payment of annual dues.

Membership shall be for 1 calendar year beginning on September 1.

ARTICLE IV

OFFICERS OF THE ORGANIZATION

Section 1.        Composition

The officers of the organization shall be the President, which shall be the past president of the CCCFCA in odd numbered years and the past president of the NJCFCA in even numbered years, the Past President, the future president, the permanent secretary, and the permanent treasurer.  All officers of the CCCFCA and NJCFCA are also Executive Committee Officers.

Section 2.        Duties of the Officers

  • The President
  1. The president shall be the chief executive officer of the organization.  His term of office shall begin at the conclusion of the annual AFCA Convention.  His duties are as follows.
  2. He shall chair any meetings of the ACCFCA and annual general membership.  Meeting to be held at annual AFCA convention.
  3. He shall call and chair any special meetings of the ACCFCA and be responsible to communicate by fax, phone, or email all important information to the executive committee.
  4. He shall make all necessary arrangements (dates, times, locations, and rooms) for general membership meetings during his term of office with the AFCA.
  5. He shall, in conjunction with the executive committee, make arrangements for the presentation of the annual ACCFCA Coach of the Year award.  This presentation will take place at the Hall of Fame Banquet at the AFCA convention each January.
  • The Past President
  1. Preside over all duties of the President in the absence of the President.
  • The Future President
  1. Preside over all duties of the President in the absence of the President and Past President.
  • The Permanent Secretary
  1. He shall keep accurate minutes of all official meetings.
  2. He shall be ready to read the minutes in general membership meetings
  3. He shall be responsible for keeping all typewritten minutes of all meetings in permanent record form.
  4. He shall compile a list of all members’ names and their respective colleges who are active or associate members in the Association each year.  He shall have those records up to date including mailing and email addresses.
  • The Permanent Treasurer
  1. He shall be responsible for collecting membership dues of all monies for the Association.
  2. He shall serve as treasurer of the Association and be responsible for the paying of all bills.
  3. He shall be bonded and be responsible for investing monies as approved by the Executive Committee.

ARTICLE V

MEETINGS OF THE ORGANIZATION

There shall be one annual meeting of the general membership.  The meeting shall be held at a time and place to be determined by the President of the Association.  Notice of this meeting shall be provided in ample time to allow all members to attend.  Executive Committee will also meet at the AFCA meeting in January at 2:00 pm on Sunday in the hotel room of the President.

ARTICLE V1

DUES OF THE ORGANIZATION

Dues for the year shall be $10.00 per school for the Association.  The membership shall extend from September 1 through August 31.

ARTICLE VII

COACH OF THE YEAR AWARD

  • To qualify for Coach of the Year:
  1. Must be a dues paying member of the AFCA.
  2. Must be a dues paying member of the CCCFCA or NJCFCA.
  3. Must be a dues paying member of the ACCFCA.
  • Selection of Coach of the Year
  1. The AFCA office shall send to all qualified voters all viable candidates for Coach of the Year.  Ballots will be returned to AFCA office and finalists will be compiled.  The final candidates will be voted on by the members.
  2. The ACCFCA Coach of the Year will be presented his award by the President and shall be a speaker at the AFCA convention.

ARTICLE VIII

AMENDMENTS TO THE CONSTITUTION OF THE ORGANIZATION

Section 1.  Executive committee of the ACCFCA may amend this constitution.  Each member shall have 1 vote.

Section 2.  Proposed amendments shall be presented to the President prior to January meeting of each year or at the Executive committee meeting on Sunday of the AFCA convention.
